Qlucore AB is pleased to announce the appointment of Carl Borrebaeck to the Board and Pia Gideon as Chair.
Pia Gideon has been appointed Chair, having served on the Board of Qlucore AB since 2009. She was previously the Vice President of Marketing and Communication at Ericsson. Gideon has extensive experience ranging from management positions in global operations, marketing and communications, leadership development and executive coaching. She has over fifteen years of experience in board assignments in listed, state owned and start-up companies. On her appointment Gideon said, “To continue to develop Qlucore with the team is very exciting, and I look forward to it.”
New Board recruit Carl Borrebaeck brings a wealth of experience from his time as a Board member of Immunovia AB, SenzaGen AB, CB Ocean Capital AB, Alligator Bioscience AB, Clinical Laserthermia Systems AB, Scandion A/S, and commercial experience from a number of IPOs. Borrebaeck has a DSc in biochemistry with a focus on molecular immunology, is professor and former Vice President at Lund University and has contributed to the start of several new life science companies. A multi-award winner, he received AkzoNobel’s Science Prize in 2009, the Royal Academy of Engineering Science’s gold medal for ground-breaking cancer biomarker research in 2012, Research!Sweden Prize for medical research in 2012 and the Biotech Builder award in 2017 for outstanding entrepreneurial achievements.
“Qlucore has an exciting untapped commercial potential which I look forward to trying to develop, utilizing the experience from both research and all my other ventures,” commented Carl Borrebaeck.
The pair join existing Board members, Magnus Fontes, Thoas Fioretos, Carl-Johan Ivarsson and Olle Lundberg.
These changes come as Qlucore recently celebrated a decade of helping researchers to visualize and analyze their data with Qlucore Omics Explorer software. Qlucore’s software combines powerful statistical methods with real time visualization facilitating easier and better collaboration between biologists and bioinformaticians. The Qlucore software makes it possible to interactively explore and analyze multivariate data sets, from small to very large as well as data generated with NGS technologies.
Qlucore has customers in about 25 countries, with sales offices in Europe and North America, and distribution in several countries in Asia. Many of the leading pharmaceutical companies use Qlucore in their research, as well as hospitals and universities around the world.
