Case Studies on Proteomics and Hepatitis C

Originally Qlucore Omics Explorer was mainly used for the analysis of gene expression data. A lot of our users still employ the program for this class of data even if nowadays the source is more likely to be RNA-seq rather than arrays. Use for other types of data and areas is increasing all the time and in the last newsletter we provided information on how to work with Flow cytometry data.

Now we would like to share two new case studies . The type of data used is proteins in different contexts, for the understanding of cardiovascular diseases at the CICS in Boston, USA, and for the understanding of Hepatitis C at Institute Pasteur in Paris, France.

"When I first put the data into Qlucore, it looked interesting almost straight away. As soon as we started using Qlucore we saw clear differences in some of the chemokines (proteins that control immune cell migration) between the A, B and C virally infected groups," Darragh Duffy at Institute Pasteur explains, adding, "Qlucore is a really great way to explore large data quickly."

"What has been interesting since using Qlucore", says Dr. Singh at CICS, "is how the software has made it possible for the biologists to visualize their research results in striking ways."

Both groups share their experiences with Qlucore Omics Explorer in these case studies that you can download at  www.qlucore.com/cases.aspx
